Dave Broyles

  • Four-year letter winner in swimming (1971-75)
  • Won three NIC individual championships (500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle) as a freshman in 1972, setting conference records in both the 200 and 1,650
  • Repeated as the NIC champion in the same three events in 1973, including setting a conference record in the 500-yard freestyle
  • Member of 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relay teams that won 1973 NIC titles with record-setting times
  • Won conference title in the 500-yard freestyle and set the NIC record in winning the 1,650-yard freestyle in 1974
  • Anchored the 400-yard freestyle relay to a conference record first place time in 1974
  • As a senior in 1975, he once again won the NIC title in both the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle with record-setting times and was a member of the 400 and 800-yard freestyle championship teams
  • Member of 400-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relays that placed eighth and 12th at the NAIA Championships to earn NAIA All-American honorable mention accolades
  • Team captain in 1974-75
  • Member of three NIC championship teams (1973, 1974, 1975)
  • Closed career winning 10 individual conference titles and was a member of 5 conference champion relay teams
  • Competed in three NAIA National Championships
